Dr. Jenny Molloy honored by European Open Source Academy

On Thursday, January 29 2026, OSHF Board Member Dr. Jenny Molloy was honored by the European Open Source Academy with a Special Recognition for Advocacy and Awareness for her many years of work supporting Open Science in all its forms. As co-founder of OSHF and the Gathering of Open Science Hardware (GOSH) community, Jenny continues to be a crucial voice in Open Science Hardware (OScH) around the world.

Not only a community organizer and organizational leader, she is also a singular researcher in her field of biochemistry as an assistant research professor at the University of Cambridge and biomanufacturing group leader at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Her work to establish the Open Material Transfer Agreement was key in moving the field forward in enabling the sharing of DNA sequences and other sensitive biological materials in the life sciences.

The Open Science Hardware Foundation is lucky to have Dr. Molloy as a board member, organizational expert, and collaborator, and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.
